Terms of service

1. The service

DineQ is a waitlist service for restaurants: a live list for your team, a live page for each waiting guest, and the notifications between them. You are responsible for what your team writes to guests; we are responsible for delivering it.

2. Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed per location, per month, in Canadian dollars. A month-to-month plan can be cancelled any time and runs to the end of the month you have paid for. The annual rate is a twelve-month commitment paid monthly; cancelling early owes back the discount already taken on the months used, and never the remainder of the term. Usage (texts, AI replies) is drawn from prepaid credit you buy in advance. Credit does not expire and is never invoiced after the fact. Unused credit is refunded on request if you close your account.

3. Trials, and what happens if a payment fails

Both plans start with a 14-day free trial, which takes a card. There is no free plan to fall back to afterwards. If a payment does fail we email you and never your guests, keep everything working for three days while it retries, and then move the account to a limited free state — texts off and a daily cap on parties — rather than freezing your waitlist. Your list, your history and your door code are not deleted.

4. Acceptable use

Guest phone numbers may be used for one purpose: messages about the guest's visit. Using DineQ to send marketing, or exporting numbers for any other use, ends the account. This protects the reply rates every restaurant on DineQ depends on.

5. Availability

We aim for the service to be up every hour you are open. If it isn't, the host list keeps working offline on the device in front of you and syncs when the connection returns. Credit is not consumed by messages that fail to send.
