This page is for guests who gave a restaurant their mobile number so it could tell them when their table was ready. It describes every text DineQ will send you and every way to make it stop. Terms of service is the separate agreement with the restaurant.
DineQ sends them on behalf of the restaurant whose waitlist you joined. Every message names that restaurant, so you always know which door it is about. DineQ never texts you on its own behalf.
You typed your mobile number into that restaurant's own join page — reached by scanning the QR code at the door or on the table, or by tapping a link the host gave you. The number is optional and you can join without it. Directly above the join button, the page reads: “We'll only text you about this wait. Reply STOP to stop. Message and data rates may apply.” Submitting the form is the opt-in, and it applies only to the wait you were joining.
Only messages about that one wait: a confirmation that you joined and where you are in line, notice that your table is ready, one reminder if you do not reply, and a confirmation once you have been seated or taken off the list. There is no marketing, no promotional content, and no messaging of any kind after your wait ends.
At most a handful of messages per wait — usually three or four. It depends on how long you wait and whether you reply.
Message and data rates may apply. DineQ does not charge you anything; your own carrier bills as usual.
Reply STOP or ARRÊT to any message and they stop immediately — that applies to every restaurant on DineQ, not just the one that texted you. UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, QUIT or END work the same way. Reply START or OUI to turn them back on.
Stopping texts does not affect your place in line. Your wait carries on and your own live page keeps updating — texts were never the only way you were being told. You can also turn texts off, or remove yourself from the list entirely, from that page at any time.
Reply HELP or AIDE to any message. You can also write to help@dineq.app and a person will answer.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. This is also why a text is never the only place your wait is shown: your live page is the channel of record, and it works whether or not a message arrives.
It is used to send the messages above and for nothing else — not by us, and not by the restaurant through us. It leaves the live system 48 hours after your visit. The privacy policy has the rest.
